POST AND RECRUITMENT MODE Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata, an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, invites applications under Advertisement No. 01/2026 for one Secretary & Curator post. Recruitment is by direct recruitment, failing which by deputation or transfer. Pay is Level 13, ₹1,23,100–₹2,15,900. Probation is one year and may be extended up to two years. DIRECT-RECRUITMENT AGE AND QUALIFICATION The age limit for direct recruitment is not exceeding 55 years as on 26 October 2026. The notice states an essential MA Class I in History (Modern) or equivalent Honours degree with Class I postgraduate degree in History, together with either 10 years' teaching experience in a university/college or 5 years' administrative experience in a responsible post. Desirable qualifications include a Research Publications record, knowledge of research, a Museology diploma and travel abroad in connection with museum development. DEPUTATION/TRANSFER For deputation/transfer, the notice specifies Professor/Senior Class I Officer status and an age limit not exceeding 56 years as on 26 October 2026.
